1. Figure out if you need a visa or not

2. Check eligibility

6. Attend the appointment

When the date of the appointment comes, visit the embassy. Bring all the requirements, passport, etc. Being late is not a good idea.

7. Pass the interview

You have to pass an interview at the embassy. The German officials will ask questions about your visiting Germany. Be honest and give true answers.

8. Pay the application fees

There is a visa application fee for a language visa. You have to bring enough money to pay for it. Not paying the fee means the visa will not get processed.

9. Wait for the processing

When you have completed all the procedures, just wait. Wait until your visa gets processed. The processing time depends on different elements. However, if you apply at a busy time of year, it could take up to three months. When the visa gets approved, officials will send it to your address. If it gets denied, they will inform you why.

Visa’s validity depends on the officials’ decisions. They might grant you a visa valid for the entire duration of your course. You might also receive a visa valid only for three months. You will have to extend the visa to Germany to continue your course.

10. After arriving in Germany

When you get to Germany, you have to register with the Residence Registration offices. To do so, you must provide the following documents:

  • Proof of having enough funds
  • Evidence of taking part in a German language course.
  • Health insurance

Germany Language Course Visa Requirements

The requirements for a German language course visa are as follows::

A. Application form

B. Passport

Your passport’s validity can not be less than the visa. It must be valid for at least three months from the date you will leave Germany. Also, it can not be older than 10 years.

C. Photos

Two identical photos. Take them in the latest three months to the date of application. Remember, their background must be white clear.

D. Proof of accommodation

Make it clear what place you will live in during your stay. You could do it in the following ways:

  • A receipt of the reserved hotel
  • Rental contract
  • Evidence of owning an apartment or house in Germany.
  • Invitation letter if you will be staying with a friend or family.

E. Proof of language course

Provide proof of registration in a German language course:

  • A formal enrollment letter
  • Approved registration certificate

Remember, the course must contain 18 hours of classes in a week. The last duration must be three months.

F. Health insurance

The health insurance you purchase must be valid for the entire stay in Germany. It must also cover medical expenses in other EU/Schengen areas. Provide the original and two copies.

Applicants have to hold 10,236 EUR for every year of staying in Ireland. You could prove your financial ability through:

  • Bank statements for the latest three months.
  • Scholarship proof
  • A fixed deposit statement
  • A commitment letter from someone sponsoring you.

If parents will sponsor you:

  • A declaration letter stating that they will cover the expenses.
  • Bank statements or payslips for the latest six months.

L. CV/ Resume

Provide your CV/Resume in English or German. It must contain:

  • Professional experience
  • Qualifications
  • Certificates/diplomas
  • Etc.

M. Motivational letter

It is a letter from you to the German authorities. Explain in the letter:

  • The purpose of your visit.
  • The reason you want to learn German.
  • The duration of your stay.
  • Where you will stay.
  • Explain how and why learning German will help you and your career.
