The India Tourist visa requirements are as follows:

Application form

This form is granted to whoever is applying from outside India. Each application is valid only for one person. If any other member of the applicant’s family or friends wants to accompany them, they should apply separately. Be careful to fill the application the way that is required. If any errors take place in your application, there will be no way to change it. Therefore, we suggest that you review all the information before clicking submit. The application will be saved if you had any problems submitting it, so there will be no worries. You should keep the application ID which will automatically appear after you have submitted it.

After the submission, you will be asked whether you want to set an appointment and pay the fee online.

If yes, you should select a date for the appointment and calculate the fee and other expenses. Then you can make the payment by reaching the e-payment site. If the site is not available, take a print of the online application and try to make the payment at the appointment.

If No, take a print of the online application and do it to the concerned Indian mission carrying all the supporting documents.

The passport validity should be six months further than the validity of the Indian Tourist visa, should at least have two blank pages for the visa stamp, and should not be torn or separated.

Photo of the applicant

You should upload your photo in the application form. The image should meet the following criteria:

  • The format should be JPEG.
  • It would be best if you had taken it free months before the application process.
  • You should stand in front of a blank background.
  • You should not wear glasses or headwear unless for religious purposes
  • The size should be at least 10 KB and at most 300 KB
  • The height and width should be the same
  • The photo should indicate the entire face, from the top of hair to the bottom of the chin, eyes open, with the absence of shadows or anything covering it.
  • The photo should be frameless.

For babies under a year old, open eyes are not necessary. Facial expressions have some relaxation, but the photo should be frontal and explicit. In children under 10, the eyes should be open, the mouth closed, and the child should be alone in the picture without any other person or toys.

You should make a copy of your driver’s license. Your license’s mentioned address should be the exact address that you have written on the application form.

Requirements of India Tourist visa for children under 16

The requirements of children under 16 are as follows:

  • Childbirth certificate mentioning the name of parents
  • Consent letter signed by parents
  • Copy of both parents’ passports and a copy of their current Indian visa
  • If divorced, a child custody letter is required
  • If single parent, solicitor’s letter, and child benefit letter are required
  • If a minor application, the signature of one parent will work

The applicant should not be a resident or occupied in India at the time. The tourist application for the India Tourist visa can only include sightseeing, casual visitor recreation. The applicants do not have the right to work or study in India.

If you only intend to transit through India, you won’t need to apply for a visa; if you won’t leave the transit area. The officials or Diplomats can not apply for the e-Visa.

The Journalists who intend to apply for a Tourist visa should also apply for a Journalist visa.

You can get an application twice a year for the India Tourist visa. The standard processing takes five days, and then you will be given your visa. However, you can apply for a Rush or Super rush visa that takes 2 or 3 days. Clearly, by choosing this option, the fees will rise. It’s better if you don’t fill out the application earlier than 30 to 120 days of your departure, depending on where your residence is.

Your visa is valid up to the date you have chosen on-site, which are only three. After that, you will have to get back to your country as there isn’t any possibility of extending the Indian Tourist visa.
