In the first part of this article, we came up with a list of some EU countries and Schengen Area nations that have agreed to relax their entrance regulations.
These adjustments are made after examining higher vaccination rates and deciding that severe travel constraints are no longer effective in stemming the outbreak of COVID-19.
The second part of our article will tell you about other countries’ entrance regulation changes.
Austria
Austria presently allows all people with a certified vaccination or recovery document or a negative COVID-19 test result to enter the country. A vaccination certification entitles its holder to unrestricted entrance into Austria if it demonstrates that the last vaccine dosage in the context of primary immunization was obtained within the past nine months or if the holder has already received a booster injection.
Only certifications for recovery are acceptable if the individual has tested positive for the virus within the past 180 days. As with COVID-19 testing, Austria allows both fast antigen and PCR tests. However, the rapid antigen test has a validity period of 48 hours, whereas the PCR test has a validity period of 72 hours.
Therefore, anyone wishing to gain access to many public areas and events in Austria must provide one of the above credentials. Nevertheless, such a rule is only in effect until this Saturday. Then, on March 5, Austria will abolish all domestic COVID-19 regulations. This implies that while visiting all forms of lodging, restaurants, cafés, cultural organizations, and recreational facilities, tourists will no longer be needed to produce legitimate proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative test result.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria allows access to everyone who has been vaccinated or has recovered from the infection. However, various restrictions apply based on the nation of origin from which the traveler is departing.
Travelers arriving in Bulgaria from green, orange, or red-listed nations may enter without limitation if they provide one of the requirements listed on the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate, such as a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate. They can also present equivalent documents showing the same data as the EU DCC.
In contrast, foreign visitors from a dark red zone must also submit a negative COVID-19 test, including a vaccine or recovery document. Individuals who do not provide one of the certificates above are subject to additional entry rules, such as the quarantine necessity.
Croatia
According to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all tourists from the EU/EEA can enter Croatia for any reason as long as they have one of the valid permits included in the EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate.
Croatia uses the same validity period for vaccination and recovery permits as the preceding nations. According to the Ministry, foreign visitors from non-EU/EEA nations can travel to Croatia by producing a legitimate EU Digital COVID Certificate. Visitors who do not have an EU DCC may produce another comparable document.
Denmark
Denmark is one of the first EU member states to relax COVID-19 rules. As a result, foreign visitors who have been completely vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 are allowed to enter Denmark without restrictions, even if they are coming from a non-EU/Schengen Area nation.
However, Remember that Denmark only accepts vaccination permits that show the holder has fulfilled the vaccination process using one of the permitted vaccine doses. Denmark currently implements less rigorous internal COVID-19 limitations and eases entrance procedures. Foreign Visitors are no longer required to wear face covers or have a Covid-19 vaccination certificate to access pubs, restaurants, and other indoor places.
Finland
All visitors, such as non-EU nationals, must provide a vaccination or recovery proof to visit Finland. On the other hand, unvaccinated and unrecovered individuals are subject to distinct rules. Tourists from the EU/Schengen Area who lack a vaccination or recuperation permit can enter Finland by submitting a negative COVID-19 test result.
Suppose the traveler does not hold either one of the two certificates. In that case, he or she cannot enter Finland for travel purposes if unvaccinated and unrecovered travelers from outside the EU are refused entry.
Germany
All EU/Schengen Area visitors, including some from a third nation on Germany‘s safe list, are welcome to enter the latter’s territory regardless of having to follow any extra entry requirements.
They only need to provide a valid recuperation, immunization, or test certificate. Non-EU passengers, in contrast, are subject to various regulations. According to German officials, only fully vaccinated third-country passengers are allowed to visit Germany for travel purposes.
Hungary
Hungary welcomes all EU/Schengen Area and third-world countries visitors who possess a valid recognized COVID-19 Certificate. Those who satisfy the admission requirements are not needed to take any extra steps. Visitors who are unable to show the requisite documentation, on the other hand, are not granted admission into the nation for travel purposes.
Italy
Italy now uses the same laws for all visitors without considering their nationality. Everyone is allowed to enter Italy as long as they have a valid vaccination or recovery document or a COVID-19 test result (negative).
“All non-European countries will be required to follow the same rules for arrivals in Italy that already apply to Europeans as of March 1. An Italian Ministry of Health statement states that one of the conditions of the Green Pass is sufficient for entry into the national territory: proof of vaccination, proof of recovery, or negative test results.
Lithuania
Lithuania has likewise chosen to modify its immigration regulations in light of the low rates of infection. As a result, all passengers from the EU/Schengen Area can visit Lithuania without limitation if they have been completely vaccinated or have recovered from the infection.
Unvaccinated and unrecovered passengers, in contrast, are subject to distinct regulations. Unvaccinated/unrecovered passengers from the EU/Schengen Area are advised to undergo a PCR or a fast antigen test no later than the third day of their entry.
In the case of unvaccinated/unrecovered third-country visitors, Lithuanian officials have said that they must undergo a COVID-19 test prior to entering the country. They are also advised to undergo an additional test within three days of their arrival.
Malta
Malta has kept the color-coded system set up. Foreign visitors from across the globe are currently asked to complete a Passenger Locator Form and produce the QR code upon entry.
In addition, in order to enter the country, everyone must provide a valid immunization certificate. A vaccination document is only legitimate when traveling to Malta if the primary vaccination was conducted within the last three months. Those who were vaccinated more than 90 days ago must get a booster injection in order for their pass to be valid when visiting Malta.
Other papers, including recovery papers or negative test results, are not accepted for entrance into Malta. Despite the fact that Malta maintains rigorous entrance requirements, the nation has opted to relax some of its internal COVID-19 procedures. Beginning March 7, many enterprises around the nation, such as restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and others, will no longer have working hours restrictions.
Norway
Norway, similarly to Iceland, has waived all COVID-19 admission requirements. As a result, visitors from all over the globe are welcome to visit Norway regardless of vaccination or recovery proof.
“There will be no testing, isolating, or registration!” “All COVID-19 entrance restrictions for all tourists to Norway have been eliminated as of February 12, 2022,” the Norwegian officials highlight. Furthermore, the government has lifted all national COVID-19 restrictions.
“Moreover, other limitations have been lifted.” There is no longer any requirement to cover your face with a mask anywhere in the country. In addition, social distancing laws have also been relaxed. “All pubs, restaurants, and museums are open, and you may attend all types of activities, including concerts and conferences,” the officials noted.
Portugal
Tourists from the EU/EEA are permitted to enter Portugal regardless of having to comply with any extra entry requirements if they exhibit one of the passes included in the EU Digital COVID Certification. Non-essential travel to Portugal is also possible for residents of certain countries:
The US | China | Childe | Colombia |
Brazil | Bahrain | Indonesia | United Arab Emirates |
Qatar | Kuwait | Uruguay | New Zealand |
The UK | Canada | Taiwan | Peru |
South Korea | Hong Kong and Macau | Rwanda | Saudi Arabia |
If a visitor from one of the above-mentioned third-world countries arrives in Portugal by flight, they must pass a pre-entry test if they do not have an EU DCC. Everyone over 12 is subject to such a requirement.
Those arriving by air or sea, in contrast, are just asked to provide proof of immunization or a recuperation permit. Under reciprocal circumstances, foreign visitors from countries that recognize Portugal’s COVID-19 travel papers are likewise allowed to enter the country with simply the EU DCC.
Slovenia
Slovenia has waived all of its COVID-19 admission requirements. Tourists can now visit the latter’s region without presenting a vaccination, recovery documents, or test certificate upon arrival.
“Since February 19, 2022, limitations imposed by Covid-19 are no longer in effect while entering Slovenia.” According to a Slovenian government statement, this implies that the RVT (recovered/vaccinated/tested) condition is no longer a requirement at the border.
Sweden
Sweden has removed its entrance ban, allowing all EU/EEA citizens to enter without restriction. Tourists from the EU/EEA do not need to follow any further entry requirements to enter Sweden.
“There is no need for an entrance prohibition when coming straight from an EU/EEA nation or Switzerland beginning February 9, 2022.” Without considering their citizenship, this implies that everybody can visit Sweden with no limitations,” the Swedish Police said in a statement.
In contrast, Sweden maintains an entrance prohibition for visitors from other nations. The prohibition on admission will be in force until March 31. Only those on the exemption list are permitted to enter Sweden without the necessity to comply with any entrance requirements. This implies that anyone from a third-world country must still have a vaccination permit.
