The Qatari diplomat was appointed in Ghana in March 2018, and Ghana’s mission in Doha opened in May of that year.
The government of Ghana has struck a visa waiver accord with eight nations, one of which being Qatar. This is done in an effort to enhance service delivery for passport administrations in Ghana and its embassies across the world.
The remaining seven nations on the list of visa-free travel are as follows:
- Jamaica
- Nevis
- Suriname
- Venezuela
- Saint Vincent
- Malta
- The Grenadines
- Saint Kitts
- Guayana
The new plan will involve notable passport bearers such as Diplomatic, Service, and Official passports that will be excluded from the need to apply for a visa upon entering Ghana and vice versa.
As part of the deal, all 13 passport application centers will be equipped with generator sets, and E-Visa application hardware will be installed at Ghana’s embassies abroad and in the Ghana Immigration Service.
