January 2022, the BC PNP Tech Draw invited 91 applicants to apply for permanent residency.
British Columbia province invited 91 applicants in the tech field to apply for provincial nomination on January 18.
The applicants received their invitation through the BC PNP Tech program. It is a subcategory of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
British Columbia uses the BC PNP as an economic immigration pathway to attract highly skilled workers to the province. It is a doorway to permanent residency for people who seek to live in Canada.
The applicants who received an invitation in this draw must have been eligible and meet the eligibility principles for one of Columbia’s Express Entry BC. It is also required to mee one of the Skills immigration categories that are managed through the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
The least required provincial score for applicants was 80 during this draw, and they were from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories.
The applicants have only 30 days to apply for the nomination.
What do you know about the BC PNP Tech program?
British Columbia introduced the BC PNP Tech in 2017. The officials figured out that the biggest trouble for the British Columbia tech sector is finding skilled and talented workers.
The program was launched temporarily, but it was useful and achieved the huge success that British Columbia made it a permanent program.
When skilled and talented local workers are not available, the BC PNP Tech allows employers to attract skilled and talented workers to BC from around the world to the province.
The BC PNP Tech is also a fast immigration program. The applicants must be registered with one of the BC’s existing provincial immigration streams. Also, holding a job offer from an employer in the British Columbia province in one of 29 eligible occupations is a must to be eligible for the program.
The job offer needs to be for at least one year. While applying for the program, if the applicant is working with the same employer, the offer must be valid for at least 120 days. The employer must be eligible, and the offer needs to be full-time.
British Columbia officials send the invitations every week to the qualified applicants. The candidates must submit a complete application for the provincial nomination. Then, the application is processed within 2-3 months.
When the application gets approved, the candidates receive a nomination confirmation, and they can use it to apply for permanent residence at the IRCC under the PNP class.
The program provides additional 600 points in the CRS ranking, which is a great ranking that increases the chance of receiving Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through the Express Entry system.
