In the first part of this article, we mentioned some of the new regulations for UAE visas. In addition, Dubai’s government has approved new rules for the Federal Decree-Law on Foreigners’ Entry and Residence to attract more foreign investors, skilled workers, and entrepreneurs. Aiming to improve the standard of living for citizens and their families in the UAE, these reforms will also increase the competitiveness and flexibility of the labor market.
The second part of this article will tell you about more new updates on UAE visas.
Golden Residence
Significant changes are made to the Golden Residence Scheme to simplify the qualifying conditions and broaden the types of recipients. As a result, investors, entrepreneurs, remarkable talents, scientists and experts, great students and graduates, humanitarian activists, and frontline heroes are eligible for this long-term 10-year residency.
The modifications enable the Golden Residence owner to sponsor their family members, such as spouses and children of any age, and support services to laborers in an unlimited number. Additionally, there are no time limits on how long you may stay outside the UAE to keep your Golden Residence active.
There are additional privileges for family members, such as the ability to remain in the UAE in the case of the death of the initial owner of the Golden Residence until the expiration of their permission.
Golden Residence for Exceptional Talents
This home is reserved for exceptional performers in critical disciplines. It is given only based on skill, independent of educational background, work situation, a monthly wage, or professional level.
It necessitates the endorsement or permission of a federal or local government organization, and it includes talented persons in culture, art, sports, technology, inventors and entrepreneurs, and other critical disciplines.
Golden Residence for Entrepreneurs
The administrative laws provide flexible standards for entrepreneurs seeking the Golden Residence. An entrepreneur must have ownership of the business or be a partner in a startup established in the nation in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) category with annual revenues of at least AED1 million.
Furthermore, getting clearance for a startup concept from an official business incubator, the Ministry of Economy, or the appropriate municipal authorities is enough to get the Golden Residence in this field.
Also, the Golden Residence is offered to individuals who are founders or co-founders of past entrepreneurial projects that were sold for a total of not less than AED 7 million. The Ministry must approve projects or proposals of the Economy or the appropriate municipal authorities.
Golden Visa for Outstanding Students and Graduates
This residence focuses on high-achieving students in UAE secondary schools and excellent graduate students from UAE universities and the top 100 institutions globally, based on specified criteria such as academic achievement (cumulative average), graduation year, and university classification.
Green Residence for Freelancing and Self-Employment
In accordance with the rising relevance of flexible work patterns, this route offers freelancers and self-employed people a 5-year stay in the UAE without a sponsor or employers. It is necessary to obtain a freelance/self-employment permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, have a bachelor’s degree or specialized diploma, and have a yearly salary from self-employment of at least AED360,000 for the past two years, or demonstrate financial solvency throughout the applicant’s residency in the country.
New System for Entry Visas
The new system provides UAE tourists with a selection of visa kinds for various visit objectives. For the first time, new categories of visas are offered that do not require a host or sponsor. Significant enhancements include easing entrance procedures for all visa classes and providing flexible visa lengths that match the needs of travelers and the reason for their visits. Furthermore, all entrance visas are accessible for single or multiple entries. They may be renewed for the same period(s) and are valid for 60 days from issuance.
Entry Permit to Visit Relatives or Friends
According to the current revision, a visitor can file for this entrance permission if they are a family member or acquaintance of a UAE citizen or resident. Furthermore, it is not necessary to have a sponsor or a host.
Entry Permit for a Temporary Work Mission
This kind is for people who have a temporary job assignment, such as probation testing or a project-based mission, and their company supports them. It is necessary to have a temporary employment contract or a letter from the employer stating the purpose of the visit and proof of health fitness to work.
Tourist Visa
A five-year multi-entry tourist visa was introduced in addition to the regular tourist visa, which the tourism establishments in the UAE sponsor.
A person with this type of visa does not need a sponsor and may stay in the country for up to 90 days uninterrupted; further extensions may be granted if the total stay does not exceed 180 days in a single year.
To apply for this visa, you must demonstrate a bank balance in foreign currency equivalent to US$4,000 within the last six months.
