If you get your dental degree from a foreign country and not in Israel, you must pass this procedure to immigrate and work in Israel as a dentist. You will have to send your documents to the Israeli officials. They assess them and decide whether you are eligible to work as a dentist in Israel or not. You have to pass examinations as well. Applying to the Medical Professions Licensure Division for a dental license

The first step is to prepare your documents and send them to the Medical Professions Licensure Division in Israel. You must gather this list of documents:

1. Two passport-sized photos of yourself.
2. Two copies of your ID card or passport.
3. An application form or questionnaire that is in the Hebrew language.
4. An application form which is the request to examine your documents to get a dentistry licensing examination.
5. A dental degree or diploma from a verified university or college. You need verification from the university that you have completed your studies and all the mandatory courses.
6. An official verification of the exact date that you studied and finished your education. If you have attended more than one education center, you need a syllabus or transcripts from each one of them.
7. A license to practice dentistry in the country you got your diploma. If you can not provide such a license, submit an explanation letter and explain why you can not provide it.
8. A certificate of confirmation of employment from the appropriate medical institution. Also, you need a letter that indicates the starting and finishing date of the employment.
9. A professional certificate of integrity which you must get from the competent authorities in the country you studied and got your diploma.
10. Translation of your documents.

You must send a copy of the documents and not the original ones. You should prepare copies of your documents, as the ones you sent will not be returned. If your documents are not in Hebrew or Arabic, you must have them translated by a verified translator in Israel. You must submit a copy of the documents plus the translation. An authorized notary in Israel must confirm the copies to the originals.

You must send the gathered documents by registered mail to the following address:

Ministry of Health, 39 Yirmiyahu Street, P.O.B. 1176, Jerusalem 9101002.

You should send the documents in a sealed envelope. You will have to apply no later than 30 days before the examination date.

Results of the assessment

If the results of the assessment are positive, the Israeli official will send you the instructions to take the examinations. You will receive the instructions through email and get a password by SMS. You must be in Israel at the time of application and to take the exams.

You must use the username and password to enter the Portal Dealing with Health Professions. The instructions tell what you have to do for the next stages, and you can read them in the following lines.

Registration for the Theory part of the Government Examination.

The first stage of the examination you must pass to immigrate and work in Israel as a dentist is a theory exam. There are two registration stages with part one of the exam. 

1. The first part is to enter the Portal Dealing with Health Professions website and submit the required declarations, your passport photo, and an application. Also, you must choose the date and language of the exam.

After you are done with the registration, you will receive an SMS with your examinee number. You will have to complete the registration no later than 15 days before the exam. 

2. After you are done with the registration one day later, you must enter the Government Payments Website (Hebrew), prove your identity, and pay the fee for the examination.

Attention: If you are staying in Israel as a tourist, you must apply to the Ministry of Health Hotline by telephone at *5400. They will guide you on the registration for the exam. After you are done with the registration, you will receive an SMS with your examinee number. Your application to the hotline must be made no later than 21 days before the date of the examination.

After the registration is done, you must enter the Government Payments Website (Hebrew) and pay the fees for the examination.

You will receive an SMS confirming the registration for the exam.

Notice of Insertion of the Examination

You will receive an SMS no later than 5 days before the examination date and have to include the following information in it:

• The date and time of the examination
• The place of the examination
• The seating plan for the examination

You must take the exam on the determined date and location. If you pass the first stage, you will be allowed to take the second part or stage of the exam. If you need more information about the examination, the Ministry of Health website provides you with further information.

Registration for the Practical part of the Government Examination.

After you pass the first stage of the Government examination, you can register for the second stage. It often gets called stage B of the examination. Stage B consists of two parts:

1. For the first part of the registration, you must enter the portal dealing with the health professions (Hebrew) and complete the registration for the exam. After you are done with the registration, you will receive an SMS with your examinee number. You will have to complete the registration no later than 15 days before the examination date.
2. After you complete the registration, you must enter the Government Payments Website (Hebrew), prove your identity, and pay the fees for registration. You will receive an SMS that confirms that the registration is complete.

If you are staying in Israel as a tourist, the Ministry of Health Hotline on the telephone *5400 to inform them of your registration. The Dental Health Department will register you manually. After the first part of the registration is complete, you will receive an SMS with your examination number.

Then you must the Government Payments Website (Hebrew) and pay the fees for the examination. You will have to pay the fees no later than 14 days before the examination date.

After you pay the fee, you will receive an SMS and confirms the registration for the examination.

About one week or for at least 5 days before the exam, you will receive an SMS and must include the following information:

• The date and time of the examination
• The place of the examination
• The seating plan for the examination

Assessment and dental license in Israel.

The Israel Ministry of Health needs approval or confirmation from the Israel Police that you have no criminal background and can immigrate and work in Israel as a dentist. The Ministry will apply for this confirmation to the Police, and after they get the positive result that you have no criminal background, they will issue the dental license. According to Israeli national law, the Ministry of Health can not ask for confirmation from you as the applicant.

You will need the following items to get your license to work as a dentist in Israel:

1. A dental graduation certificate from an approved university by the Ministry of Health.
2. A valid dental diploma that is recognized by the  Licensing of Medical Professions Division.

You will receive an SMS that says you are eligible to receive a dental license in Israel. You will have to pay the fixed license fee to receive your license.
