According to the BBC, international award winners will benefit from the fast-track UK visa processing to live and work in the country.
The Home department or the Home Office has announced the “Fast Track” decision for people who have won art awards. The government is to attract the best talented people of the world to the country. The winners of the following awards are eligible for the program:
- Bafta
- Brit
- Mobo
- Tony or Golden Globe
The UK has another program for attracting international artists to the country called the Global Talent route. However, it requires the applicants to receive an endorsement from one of six bodies. But the new decision makes candidates eligible with one international award.
What are the details of the UK fast track visa processing?
The directors, actors, and actresses are eligible for the fast-tracking visa processing. The people who have won a Nobel Prize for science or literature or the Turing Award also qualify.
The applicants need to have a skill, the talent of special ability in one of the following fields and they become qualified to live and work in the country:
- Dance
- Theatre
- Architecture
- Fashion
- Film industry
The British officials are reviewing the list of awards and might add fields and other ones to it.
Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, announced that “such people have reached the highest points in their career and they have a lot to offer to the UK,” so the UK has something to offer to them as well. She added that ” the point-based immigration system is designed to attract the best and brightest applicants to the country by the skill or talent they have evolved, not the country of residence.”
