US G Visa

What is the G visa?

Officials and employees of the international organizations and NATO going to the US to do their official tasks must apply for G-1 to G- 4 or NATO-1 to NATO- 6 visas.  People who work in international organizations and NATO officials are not authorized to go to the US for doing their official duties under any other visa category or the Visa Waiver Program.

People such as diplomats, government officials, and employees who are employed by international organizations in the United States and their families need to get G-1 to G-5 visas. Those who work for The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) need to get a NATO visa.

It should be noted that the presidents of countries must obtain an A-1 visa, irrespective of the purpose of their trip to the US. Officials entering the US for non-governmental purposes, such as commerce or tourism, must also apply for a proper visa defined for that purpose.
