How to apply for a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa?
If you are from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or South Korea, you have to be selected successfully in the Youth Mobility Scheme ballot before you are able to apply for a visa.
Apply from outside the UK
You have to apply for this type of visa online. You need to visit the UK Visa and Immigration website to begin your application. The application is only possible through this website. So don’t be misled by other websites’ fake advertisements.
You need to create an account on the website if you haven’t applied before for a UK visa. Remember that you need a verified email address to register with the website. You must have access to the email’s password for reentering into your account or checking notifications.
Going through the website, choose Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme visa option. Then enter your nationality in the box. It must be one of the eligible countries mentioned above. Then read the instructions and insert your email address with a password easy to memorize—the website guides the further instructions. You also need to pay the fees and health surcharge. Pick a place to submit your biometric information. Be careful to choose a place that you can get to and complete the procedures.
You must collect your biometric residence permit within ten days of your arrival in the UK (even if you arrived at a later date).
You could also use the fast visa issuance if you are in a hurry.
If you have children while in the UK
If you have children while in the UK, they will not automatically become British citizens.
You can apply for their visa online as your dependent. If you want to take your children in and out of the UK, you must do this.
You must obtain a full UK birth certificate for each child, showing the names of both parents.
How many times can you apply for a Youth Mobility visa?
You have only one chance to apply for this visa; if you have entered the UK with this visa before, you can not apply for it again. For example, if you come to the UK for only one month and return home for two years, you are not allowed to come back to the UK in this category.
You can apply for another visa if you have applied for Youth Mobility but never entered the UK with it (it was never activated), but you have to pay the fee again. (Note, if you are sure that you don’t want to come to the UK, you better cancel the visa because, in this way, a refund of your IHS fee will be paid to you).
You had had the visa before but entered the county as a tourist. If the visa wasn’t used to allow you to enter the United Kingdom, then you can apply for it again in the future. However, you won’t be receiving any refund for the first application unless you have withdrawn your visa application.
To refund your IHS fee, you must withdraw or cancel your visa to receive a refund. The payment is automatic, but based on experience, it may take several months. And you may have to pursue them to get it!
You can cancel your visa while the online log-ins are still active since it is a place where you should go to action. Your online application is active for three months or 90 days. Now it is increased to 6 months due to the COVID pandemic.
Do you have to have a job offer to apply for the Tier 5 Visa?
No, you are not required to have a job offer. The online application includes the fields that ask you about employment in the United Kingdom, but when we apply with youth mobility visa applications, the procedure is to enter “I will find work when I reach the United Kingdom.” And this is fine unless you have high-demand skills, then your chance of getting a job prior to your arrival is very slim.
Let’s sum up…
