South Korea Business visa: Application Process

Applicants who need a South Korean business visa must first have a sponsor. The application process is as follows:

  1. The sponsor must first complete the application form. The Jurisdiction office processes the application.
  2. Confirmation of Visa Issuance will be issued to both the sponsor and the applicant if the application is approved.
  3. The applicant can then prepare the required documents and submit them to the South Korean Diplomatic Office.
  4. The diplomatic mission examines the application and decides whether to grant the visa.
  5. You can enter South Korea if your visa application is approved.

South Korean Business visa: Types

  • Incorporated enterprise (D-8-1): The D-8 Korean visa is usually issued to foreigners who intend to invest at least KRW 100 million. The D-8-1 visa is valid for five years. This visa is given to those who intend to obtain 10% of their total stock through investment.
  • Business venture (D-8-2): The validity of this visa is two years. This visa is appropriate for people who want to establish a business adventure based on advanced technology.
  • Unincorporated enterprise (D-8-3): This visa is valid for five years. You need this visa if you plan to invest in a company run by a Korean citizen. You must invest at least KRW 100 million in this company.
  • Technology and business startup (D-8-4): This visa is valid for two years. Founders of a tech company with a bachelor’s degree or higher can apply for this visa.
  • Intra-company transferee (by FTA) (D-8-91): Those who intend to transfer a corporation under FTA can use this visa.
  • Big investor (F-5-5): Those who want to apply for residency in South Korea through investment need this visa. They must invest at least $ 500,000 and hire more than five full-time Korean citizens.
